Ipeng Kiang

BA (Hons) BArch ARB | Director

Ipeng is an Architect with extensive experience in residential and mixed-used developments, working with Local Authorities, Social Housing Providers, Private Developers and House Builders. He has managed and coordinated multi-disciplinary design teams to masterplan and re-develop large inner-city housing estates, involving both refurbishment of existing properties, new buildings and external environmental improvement works.

He held senior management positions in previous practices he worked for, with responsibility in design and production information. He has led on health and care projects providing Architect services to Health Authorities, Private Care Providers and the ‘Not for Profit’ sector, with successes in design competitions for the provision of accommodation for older people. His experience in the sector includes other special needs accommodation, such as people suffering from mental health and those with learning disabilities.

He is familiar and conversant with issues associated with the redevelopment of church sites, and has been appointed by a number of churches to help them develop a vision for their premises. He is engaged in the design of new church buildings, exploring new ways of expressing church and community life, and developing financially sustainable proposal.

The overarching driver for his work is ‘revitalising communities and creating sustainable places for people to live’.


Chris Rodrigues

BA(Hons) Architecture, Dip.Arch, M.Arch, ARB | Director

Chris is a graduate from the Bartlett School of Architecture and is a fully qualified Architect. He has experience in healthcare, education, residential and mixed-use developments and has worked on schemes ranging from £2m to £60m, from feasibility to construction, RIBA stages 1-7.

Chris’s expertise of Building Information Modelling enables him to prepare drawings and construction information more efficiently and effectively. He is proficient in the use of ‘Revit’ at all stages, from feasibility to construction. His experience in BIM has allowed him manage a number of BIM projects at levels 2 and 3, and train others in the application.

He has experience in preparing working drawings packages and has technical knowledge on various forms of building methods, including timber frame, steel frame, lightweight steel gauge and traditional masonry construction.

He works in both the Architectural and Management parts of the practice.


Johanna Heinrich

BArch (Hons) Dipl.Ing ARB | Senior Project Architect

Johanna is a Senior Project Architect with over 15 years experience in housing and school design. She has worked on large residential and multi-used projects, providing masterplanning, design and technical advice.

She is a Project Team Leader and Lead Architect, with thorough knowledge of HCA funding constraints, Code for Sustainable Homes, Lifetime Homes and the Habinteg Wheelchair Design Guide. Johanna experience includes working in multi-disciplinary teams of Planning Consultants, Building Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors, Environmental Assessors, M&E Engineers and Structural Engineers.
Experience of RIBA Work Stages 1-3: Capacity studies, feasibilities, planning documentation and submission for a variety of sites and project sizes, ranging in value from £200k to £35m.

Experience of RIBA Work Stages 4-7: Working drawings for projects of traditional, MMC and steel frame construction, ranging in value from £2-6m.


Andreea Ociu

BA (Hons) MA | Part II Architectural Assistant

Andreea completed her studies at the University of Alicante in Spain. During her studies she had the opportunity to complete part of her Bachelor’s degree at the Technical University of Munchen where her work was selected by Krucker Bates Studio for publication. She also studied for a period at the University of Sydney in Australia.

Andreea has gain a variety of experience working in architectural practices in Australia and Spain whilst also taking part in design competitions, capacity studies and feasibilities in those places.

Since joining KILO, Andreea has been involved in a range of project, from inception to planning applications. She was part of the design team that won a competition to develop designs for a church/community centre and social housing in London.


Jeremy Lodge

MA (Cantab) Dip Arch | Consultant

Jeremy acts as a Project Manager, with experience gained from ‘building and developing’ a thriving Architects department in a leading multi-disciplinary practice. His experience includes managing all aspects of the design and procurement process, as well as managing a successful professional consultancy practice.

Much of his experience involved complex projects in inner city locations. This reflected the client base – largely housing associations, local authorities and hospital trusts. The size of projects he has been involved in ranges from £500k to over £90m.

He is experienced in business development, developing management systems and design standards, administrating building contracts and preparing competitive tender documentation for developers and contractors.

He leads the management part of the practice, providing Employer’s Agent and Contract Administration services. He is involved in setting up projects to be become successful, whether it is by steering the client through the procurement process, or by putting in place project programmes and financial cost plans to keep the project on track.


Oliver Blunt

BSc, M.R.I.C.S., MCIArb | Consultant

Oliver acts as a Cost Consultant to the practice and has 40 years’ experience in the Construction Industry. He is professionally trained as a Quantity Surveyor and became Chartered in 1988. During his career he has provided the full range of Quantity Surveying services and also has extensive experience in the roles of Contract Administrator, Project Manager and Employer’s Agent.

He has been involved in projects ranging from £100k to over £50m which include community buildings, hostels, prisons, schools, private and social housing for a variety of Clients.

Oliver specialises in Cost Planning, advising on all types of procurement issues, preparation on tender and contract documentation.

He is a trained adjudicator and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Using his experience in procurement and contracts he advises on claims avoidance but has also has considerable experience in claims and dispute resolution.
